Field Notes from the Global Women's Village: March 2012

After retiring in 2003, with over 22 years of experience as a CPA, Annette traveled to Western Kenya where she worked as a business trainer and consultant with a unique micro finance program whose clients were people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Her work in Kenya evolved into a desire to help develop one of the country’s most valuable assets:its young women. In 2008, working at the grass roots and enlisting financial support from her friends in the U.S., Annette and her Kenyan colleagues created Just One Person, a unique program that empowers a new generation of African women to become economically independent and vital to the economic and social development of their country.

Annette earned B.A. degrees in Education and Business from Montana State University.
